Hi Everyone,

I haven’t been updating this site on a regular basis as I have been busy creating a new blog called, “Free MLM Leads Daily”.

The blog is not ready yet, as I haven’t finished setting up all my plugins and widgets, but please stop by for preview.

Thank you everyone for visiting.

For several weeks I have been receiving calls from a number that shows up as “Unavailable” on my cell phone caller ID. The number would call at all hours of the day, and I consistently ignored the call.

Recently I decided to pick up the call and the caller identified himself as being from Platinum Rewards. For being a preferred customer they wanted to send me a $60 gift card. The caller had the last four digits of my credit card number, and my billing address. I told the caller I wasn’t interested and to stop calling me (Of course there were a few swear words in there).

The next day I received a call from 123456789. That’s the number that was displayed in my cell phone caller id. The caller had the same offer, and again I told them I was not interested and to not call me.

The next day I received a call from 866-638-2591. Guess what, I got the same offer, and again I told them I was not interested and to not call me.

Later that same day I received a call from 866-746-1156. You guessed it, same offer again.

I did some searching on the Internet and I put my number on the “National Do Not Call Registry” again and I also filed a complaint with the FCC.

On one of the calls, I listened a little while longer and they told me, in order for them to send me my “FREE” gift, I had to agree to a trial of some product (I don’t remember the product). The first thing that came to my mind was “SCAM” and “PHISHING”, and that’s when I got upset and told them not to call.

Anyone else get this type of call? I’m very close to changing my number.

I just received another phone call. The caller ID showed 123456789. I answered nicely, asked for the callers name, company (Your Card Rewards), and contact telephone number (888-623-1623). I then asked the nice woman to remove my number from their calling list. She thanked me for my time and hung up. Very polite, but still annoying. We’ll see if these people call me back.

I haven’t been updating this site and doing much research, as I have been busy working on other projects. I actually own a few websites:

www.VWClubOfHawaii.com - Official Website of the VW Club of Hawaii
www.HawaiiCarShows.com - Not updated for a while, as I haven’t gone to many car shows lately.
www.AirlineJargon.com - New Site I’m working on. I work in the airline industry, and thought this might be cool.

The VW Club of Hawaii website is my main focus. I decided to make the site for the club because my best friend is a member of the club. On September 1, 2007 I attended the VW Club of Hawaii annual Food Bank and Car Show, later that same evening, I launched the VWClubOfHawaii.com website with a simple CSS Template and a gallery.

I didn’t have any stats setup until about a month later; therefore, I have no idea how many people visited the site during the first month. I do know that traffic was steady with about 25 unique visitors per day after the first month. Today, more club members know about the site and even a few out of state car clubs know about the site, and my unique visitor count is about 100 unique visitors per day. I’m hoping to get traffic to around 1000 unique visitors per day so that I can charge a higher premium for my 125×125 ad space.

I’m also helping the Air Cargo Association of Hawaii redo their website. Click here to see the old Air Cargo Association website. The association needed an easy method to make updates to their site. I thought Wordpress would be perfect for them as it’s very easy to use, and I use Wordpress a lot. This started out as something just for fun to practice my use of Wordpress, but the association recently asked me to be their official Webmaster. I still work for free, but I like the title and backing of the association.

I am looking to change the design of this site for 2009. I don’t really like the layout. The columns don’t really support 125×125 banner ads. I’m looking for something that has a sidebar that can accomodate 2 columns of 125×125 banners and a large footer area. I’m not sure if I want the sidebar on the left or the right. Very Important: The new theme has to be free!

Anybody got any ideas, please leave me a comment.

I was listening to my favorite radio station in Hawaii, Island 98.5 when the morning DJs (Lanai, Crystal Akana, and Junior Kekeuwa Jr.) did a segment called “Quote of the Day - Words to Live By”.

The funny thing is, I don’t remember any of the quotes??? But I have a few quotes and sayings of my own…

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.

Life is uncertain, eat dessert first.

What goes around comes around.

S#*T Happens!

Sometimes you just gotta say F*#K it!

Local Hawaii Quotes
If can can, if no can, no can.

If can can, if no can, bottle.

Thanksgiving Quote
Stuff the turkey, not yourself.

Of course I decided to go online looking for some quotes and I found this one at QuoteOfTheDay.com:

Funny Quote of the Day
A man in love is incomplete until he has married. Then he’s finished.
Zsa Zsa Gabor

Do you have any quotes or sayings? Post your quote as a comment. Please keep it clean.

I Hate Whale Wars! Has anyone seen this show? Whale Wars is the story of Captain Paul Watson and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. There mission in life is to “whaling, poaching, shark finning and habitat destruction” (copied from Animal.Discovery.com).

I understand that whales need protection. Heck, I live in Hawaii where I can see whales from my living room window, but these guys are just too much.

I only watched one episode, and that’s all I’ll ever watch. The Sea Shepherd literally “attacked” a whaling ship, threw chemical bombs onto the deck, tried to jam the prop on the whaling ship, illegally boarded the whaling ship, and then conveniently forgot to mention all the bad stuff they did to the news media, and reported that the whaling ship kidnapped their crew?! They showed different newscasts reporting the kidnapping incident, but only the Japanese news had the entire story.

The commercials for “Whale Wars” say Greenpeace doesn’t endorse their tactics, yet they (Animal Planet / Discovery Channel) are glamorizing these folks by giving them their own TV show. How about a series about Greenpeace instead? Who knows, maybe Greenpeace has a dark side too?

If their sole purpose is to stop these folks from whaling, why all the nasty tactics? If you listen to the show, someone on the crew says that the whaling ship stops whaling once they’re (Sea Shepherd) around. Sounds like all they have to do is stick around???

To make matters worse, the Sea Shepherd ship is called the “Steve Irwin”. In my humble opinion, I think Sea Shepherd is a blemish to Steve Irwin’s good name. I hated hearing Steve Irwin’s name associated with Sea Shepherd.

I was watching a re-run on the Discovery Channel this afternoon where Steve Irwin was swimming after a water snake, and then the Whale Wars commercial came on and I immediately changed the channel.

I HATE WHALE WARS! Please discontinue the show!
