Here is an update for the month of November.

Univera
Monthly Cost = $300
Last Check = $0
My wife and I are seriously considering dropping this opportunity as we do NOT do any advertising or marketing for this opportunity. I do drink the product, but I could probably get the same results by exercising and eating healthier.

I thought my wife was going to actually give this opportunity a try, but she’s not doing anything. No marketing at all.

MyJetStreamHawaii
Xango/MyJetStream
Monthly Cost = $269.47
Last Check = $78 ($28 commission + $50 Sold a couple Bottles of Xango Locally)
I stopped actively marketing Xango/MyJetStream. My ads still appear in a few banner/traffic exchanges, but that’s about it. I did join a monthly training program called 180DaysToGreatness. I was lucky and got in when the program was on sale; therefore, I pay less than $10 per month. The regular price is almost $100 per month. The problem is I don’t follow the program as closely as I should. Maybe the program is priced high so people put more effort into the program? I know I’m not putting much effort into the program because I didn’t spend that much…shame on me!
EyeEarn by driving my car!
EyeEarn/SFI
Monthly Cost = $29.95
Last Check = $19.32
EyeEarn/SFI continues to be my best earner (cost vs. profit) and the easiest program to market. I do NOT do any paid advertising for this program. My ads appear in only traffic/banner exchanges and on this blog. I don’t get many hits on the traffic/banner exchanges and I don’t get much hits to this site. For the amount of effort and work I put into this program, I think I’m getting a pretty good return.
MyWorldPlus - The most powerful discount savings and cash back rewards program in the world!
MyWorldPlus
Monthly Cost = $19.95
Last Check = $2.80
I haven’t tried using the discount card for this program, and I haven’t done much advertising, so obviously I’m not making much money (no sign ups). I’m going to start promoting this program on a few traffic/banner exchanges for one month. If I don’t see any results, this program will be dropped. To be honest with you, I found a better discount book locally. It’s only $19.95 for a 1 year membership and there’s a wider range of vendors and a better discount.

Success University
Monthly Cost = $57.90
Last Check = $0
After much consideration, I dropped out of Success University. Advertising on a major site and a nationwide home business magazine I got only a handful of prospects, but no sign-ups. I actually spent $99 on the magazine ad, but my $99 was refunded to me because I caught an error in another ad. :)

The only program I recommend for other noobs like me is EyeEarn/SFI. The risk is very low at only $20 to start and $29.95 a month, and the results are almost immediate.

Of course my results are unique to me, but so far EyeEarn has shown the best rate of return for the amount of work that I actually put into the program. I get less than 150 visitors per month for this site, and my banners only appear on the TrafficSwarm exchange, and those ads get less than 100 clicks per month. I think I’m doing pretty good for the amount of traffic I am generating.

I am currently promoting several online opportunities with the hopes that a few of them will be successful.

Univera
Monthly Cost = $300
Last Check = $0
This is my wife’s MLM venture. She does NOT actively promote Univera. We do not spend any money on advertising. We simply “Gift” products to a few people every once in a while.

MyJetStreamHawaii
Xango/MyJetStream
Monthly Cost = $269.47
Last Check = $78 ($28 commission + $50 Sold a couple Bottles of Xango Locally)
This is my main business. I have spent hundreds of dollars promoting MyJetStream/Xango and have only received one sign-up so far. MyJetStreamHawaii ads are currently on this site and a few traffic exchanges. I decided to stop buying into the advertising coop as I haven’t had a really good return on investment.

EyeEarn by driving my car!
EyeEarn/SFI
Monthly Cost = $29.95
Last Check = $8.98
I have not spent any money advertising this program, but this opportunity has the highest rate of return so far. The ad for EyeEarn appears on this site and a few traffic exchanges.

MyWorldPlus - The most powerful discount savings and cash back rewards program in the world!
MyWorldPlus
Monthly Cost = $19.95
Last Check = $2.80
I have not spent any money advertising this program. In fact, the only link I have on the Internet for this program appears on this site. The $2.80 is strictly from “Vertical Acceleration” or a single downline leg. Not one person in my downline was personally sponsored by me (Not yet at least). The cool thing about this opportunity is the discount card. I just received my card yesterday and will be seeing if the card works this weekend.

Success University
Monthly Cost = $57.90
Last Check = $0
I spent $100 to place a banner on CWAHM.com. I received 5 leads but no sign-ups yet.

As you can see, some of the business opportunities I am trying require very little work and very little advertising. I would suggest starting with one of these smaller programs before stepping into something more costly such as Univera or Xango/MyJetStream.

I will be running ads on my site shortly to recoup my advertising efforts, and I may dabble in some affiliate marketing.

Today’s Lesson: If you are looking at a MLM / Network Marketing opportunity, try a low cost opportunity first to get your feet wet, then step up to more costly opportunities.

The following information was copied from wikipedia.org.

Multi-level marketing (MLM), also known as Network Marketing, is a business-distribution model that allows a parent company to market its products directly to consumers by means of relationship referrals and direct selling.

Independent, unsalaried salespeople of multi-level marketing, referred to as distributors (or associates, independent business owners, dealers, franchise owners, sales consultants, consultants, independent agents, etc.), represent the parent company and are awarded a commission based upon the volume of product sold through each of their independent businesses (organizations).

Independent distributors develop their organizations by either building an active customer base, who buy direct from the parent company, or by recruiting a downline of independent distributors who also build a customer base, thereby expanding the overall organization. Additionally, distributors can also earn a profit by retailing products they purchased from the parent company at wholesale price.

Distributors earn a commission based on the sales efforts of their organization, which includes their independent sale efforts as well as the leveraged sales efforts of their downline. This arrangement is similar to franchise arrangements where royalties are paid from the sales of individual franchise operations to the franchisor as well as to an area or region manager. Commissions are paid to multi-level marketing distributors according to the company’s compensation plan. There can be multiple levels of people receiving royalties from one person’s sales.
